No material insight without evidence.
How Trequa builds computer vision and predictive models for Touchline360: transparent data licensing, zero customer data training by default, and unwavering sporting integrity.
Last updated 2026-10-241. The foundational principle
Football coaches stake their careers on match preparation, tactical decisions, and player trust. In an era where generative AI frequently hallucinates ungrounded assertions, Touchline360 is engineered on a non-negotiable standard:
No material insight without evidence. Every key finding, tactical pattern, and physical metric displayed in Debrief links directly to verifiable video frames and spatial pitch telemetry. If an event cannot be grounded in evidence, the system refuses to speculate.
2. Customer data is never trained on by default
Your tactical preparations, match recordings, set-piece playbooks, and squad rosters are proprietary club assets.
- Default Consent Level:
none. By default, every organization’s governance configuration enforces that nothing uploaded leaves your club’s tenant boundary. - Zero Cross-Club Contamination: Your match footage is never ingested into shared foundation models, and your tactical tendencies are never exposed to rival clubs or scout aggregators.
- Granular Governance: Only verified organization owners can modify data governance settings. Any participation in benchmarking or research requires formal, affirmative agreement.
3. Free to access is not free to train on
We treat data rights as code. Every training source ingested into our data platform carries a machine-readable rights manifest verified against its legal terms:
- Commercial ML Clearance: Models deployed to paying customers only ingest data sources whose published terms explicitly permit commercial machine learning training (such as CC BY 4.0, MIT, or CC0 datasets with verified commercial rights).
- Automated Enforcement: Our dataset builders and model registries enforce these boundaries programmatically. Research-only sources (such as benchmark-restricted academic datasets) are cryptographically restricted to research workspaces and can never be promoted into commercial production.
- Web Scraping Refusal: We explicitly refuse to scrape unauthorized broadcast feeds or proprietary match databases for model training.
4. Counteracting bias and representation gaps
Most sports analytics models are trained almost exclusively on elite European men’s football, resulting in severe algorithmic blind spots when applied to women’s leagues, youth academies, or grassroots competitions:
- Representative Corpora: Our training manifests actively measure demographic distribution across competition level, country, gender, and age group.
- Balanced Benchmarks: Corpora deliberately incorporate datasets from youth football (such as the Dynasty Scouting League in Nigeria) and women’s elite football (such as SoccerMon in Norway) alongside continental leagues.
- Out-of-Domain Verification: Before any spatial tracking or event detection model is approved for release, it must be evaluated across diverse pitch surfaces, lighting conditions, and camera angles.
5. Diagnostic restraint in health and load telemetry
Physical load telemetry, sprint volumes, and fatigue indicators are critical for player welfare, but Touchline360 is a coaching and sports science support tool, not a medical diagnostic device:
- We present measured mechanical load, sprint distances, and high-intensity running trajectories to qualified sports scientists and medical staff.
- We never claim to autonomously diagnose injuries or predict soft-tissue trauma with clinical certainty. Athletic decisions remain in the hands of qualified club medical professionals.
6. Model cards and verifiable transparency
Every machine learning model deployed in the Touchline360 suite is documented with an internal Model Card detailing its objective, training corpus provenance, feature architecture, validation accuracy, and documented operational limitations.
